Donate EMERGENCY BREAKFAST MEAL KITs.
City Net works in partnership with community groups to serve 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, all by volunteers. When a volunteer group cancels or is not scheduled, we rely on donated meal kits as the meal. They could use 500-600 of these kits a week. So any amount you care to donate will help.
Here is the kit.
1 instant oatmeal packet
1-2 protein/breakfast bar
1 fruit cup/apple sauce
1 paper bowl 1 spoon/fork
1 compassionate note
Write an encouraging and uplifting card to go inside each of the hygiene kits. Make your cards creative yet simple. Construction paper comes in handy with colorful pens, ribbons, and stickers. Index or postcard size notes are the best. Make it personal by signing your first name only at the end of the message. We suggest that you keep letters generic for men, women and people of all faiths. When preparing to write the letters, place your heart in a position which you most likely would be in if you were uplifting a friend.
Take a picture of the letter writing process and share reflections by tagging @CityNetSoCal
Here are some examples of what to write: “LET TODAY BE A GOOD DAY” ”YOU ARE THOUGHT AND CARED ABOUT” ”SMILE, YOU ARE LOVED”
